How can the top-tier be saved?

The cake will be then wrapped well in foil and tucked into the freezer for preservation. On the eve of the anniversary or the day the cake is to be consumed, it is moved to the fridge to defrost overnight. Once it is out of the refrigerator for a few hours, it is ready to be served at room temperature.
